Split Content Template
The Split Content template relies on using an accompanying image to explain the content visually. The layout helps to break up the content into sections easier and the image next to it shows a visual representation of the content (when used correctly!) to catch the user’s eye and draw them into the copy.
The content section above the split content (i.e. this block!) helps to introduce the page and set up any explanation or relevancy to the split sections below it. Keep this area to no more than 3 paragraphs of interesting content to ensure that the page looks its best. The rest of the explanations will be delved from the copy itself!
Split content sections can be a great way to tighten content and are great alternatives for pages that would stand alone normally that are lacking in content length.
This is one use that requires minimal copy and is explained with a visual beside it. They can also be used as an introductory section to other areas of the website that require a larger area for explanation.
For example, this page could be set up to explain the aspects of the course and activities within the club. This area may be used to introduce the Driving Range and may highlight the appeal of the space. The button below would be linked to the full page about the Driving Range.
Use headings
Turning the split layout template into sectioned boxes calls for setting up and styling the layouts to make them easier to read.
Adding a heading above the section can help the user interpret the importance of this information for themselves by glancing at it.
This helps with speed-reading and helps the user find what they need from this page.
Use the layout for Membership Groups
Another example of using the split layout can be for pages with multiple related sections – membership levels are a great case!

Use the full-width content area to add a call to action below the split content layouts. This can be handy for sending users to a particular page after reading the content above.
